We are a family. Greg and Marianne Wilke and 9 children. In the following paragraphs, I would like to try to describe our family. I may not get it all finished now, but will add more as time allows. (I just finished this section, and lost it, so have to do it all over and I want to take my time and not rush through it)
Titus-25,is our oldest son. He was married last June to Ruth Nissen. They just had their first baby, Demetrius Titus, in June. At present, they live in Seoul, South Korea, where Titus has been studying and learning the Korean language. When Titus lived with us in Mexico, he led several people to the Lord. He has been and continues to be a great support to our family and also a church near our village. Titus has a big heart and love for people.
David-23, was married last May to Zyanya Arino. They now live in Texas. He is working in Texas doing construction, and presently builds decks. When he was at home in Mexico, he also did wood working, making our kitchen cabinets and some book shelves. He made several closets and other furniture also. He was very well liked in the community where we live.
Petra-22, is living in Los Mochis, volunteering at a deaf school. She still comes home on the weekends, which I am thankful for. Petra has been a big part of our ministry for many years. She has taught Children's Bible Classes, worked with teams that have come down, teaching VBS classes with them. Petra has been, and still is a big support to her family and continues to teach children in the nearby villages when her time allows. Petras vitality and creativity always amazes me and I am very thankful for her.
Judah-20, is living in Oregon presently. He is working in construction. Last year, he attended Mandate School, a discipleship school in Oregon. Next year he will be on staff there. When he was living at home, Judah was a big part of the worship team. He has a joyful personality and has been a big support to us.
Gordon- 18, is living at the present time, with Judah, his brother in Oregon. He has been a big support to us with the Web-site. Last year he took it over, and did an excellent job. He was very creative and really improved it. Unfortunately, we lost our web-site and are now in the process of re-building it. Gordon has made the site "Mom and Dad friendly" and has attempted in teaching his mom how to use it, with some success. This year Gordon has been learning more about creative writing and has excelled in his computer and writing skills.
Levi-16, is living at home, and is homeschooled. This year he has been learning construction skills , VW maintenance and enjoys computer 3-D art. He and his brother, Gideon, planned and constructed a skate-board ramp with very little help from anyone. It turned out great and Levi claims that "Gideon was the brains of the project." When we first moved to the village Levi and Gideon herded their goats every day for 2 hours each. They have since sold their goats, but the character they have gained from watching those "travioso" animals still remains.
Gideon-14, is living at home. He is learning many skills this year including; welding, construction, writing, math, and VW maintenance.Gideon has a sense of humor and really adds to our family.
Susannah-11 is at home. She loves to read and study. She has been learning valuable computer skills and helps her dad with office work. She also has been learning to cook and take care of a home. Susannah is a real people person. She is able to visit the deaf school with her sister sometimes and enjoys that.
Clementina-8. She was born in Mexicali. Clementina loves to color, play with her doll, Gi Gi and cook. She can make really good tortillas and I plan on teaching her more this next year. She also likes to visit the deaf schools. Clementina has really been a help to me this year in helping me learn Spanish better ! |
