THE LIGHT STILL SHINES

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matt 5:16
A confirmation just came to us that the light still shines from our house. Like Nicodemos who came to Jesus night, we had a visitor who stood at the gate last evening. This Catholic woman shared with Marianne and I, that just our very lives, living for what is right, has been like a light house guiding her into the truth and to be able to live for what is right. She explained what we have shared with her since we have moved into this village, has sunk in, and often echos in her conscience. She also said that she could comprehend what Petra had shared about Jesus forgiving our sins. A couple years ago, it was possible to share Matt 13:55,56. It explains that Mary was not a “virgin” all her life. This winter we had helped her identify in a table talk that her security for salvation had been in “ keeping the 10 commandments.” We testified of our faith (confidence) in Jesus and salvation by grace, and she caught it! I saw a look of astonishment in her eyes as she left, promising to think more on the things that she had heard. IN WHOM YE ALSO TRUSTED, AFTER THAT YE HEARD THE WORD OF TRUTH, THE GOSPEL OF YOUR SALVATION.....EPH 1:13a

There have been many meals our friend has cooked with Marianne, and just last night this single mom sold us tamales again. In the midst of these activities there has been opportunity to share bits and pieces of the word of truth over the last 4 yrs. May the seeds we each have sown prosper, and may the light keep shining. HAPPENINGS
The last 2 weeks since I’ve returned from working in the USA, the days have been filled with working around the house, and doing things with the our own youth. Our taxes for last year has finally gotten turned into the accountant, but still more “business” work for the mission lays before me. The folks that are coming to our door are a welcome interruption for me. I don’t feel good about not “getting out there” to visit people.

We have held two more meetings in Toltecas. Marianne is playing guitar with me for the worship! During the teaching part of the meeting she also taught the children in our new vehicle/classroom. It’s a 1974 VW bus. A few weeks ago, Marianne loaded up 5 from our house and rounded up 9 other kids from a couple villages to take to the Webbs meeting in Victoria. We are so thankful for this rig and the small pickup we have been able to purchase as a replacement for the big brown van.

In our house we have been privileged with an opportunity of discipleship. Kari (20) from Grants Pass is about to complete 5 good months of Spanish and many other good things that Jesus has led her in while down here. She has written an edifying blog entry that we would like to share with you. To afford young adults the experience of being in a foreign country, and to grow in Jesus is still 1/3 of our vision for missions ministries. Thoughts On Womanhood

CAMPITO
The church in Campito continues to grow. They are adding on to the building, due to the need for more room. A lot as been donated in Bacadequis also. Armando has held meetings in that town for over 5 yrs now, and lives there also. God is blessing him and Gloria with a third child, and lots of welding work.
They need transportation, there is only one PU being shared among the whole church.

COLEGIO MAGDELENA RINCON 

Petra and Naomi have been bringing home a couple of the little boys from the school on some of the weekends. Pati ( the deaf girl from Toltecas ) continues to grow with a smile most of the time! This is a Children’s Home and school outreach that we have faith to stand behind them in prayer.

HIGH SCHOOL 

We are still keeping communications open with the owner of one lot near the High School and Junior High. Niko and his family need prayer for salvation, just as much as we are praying, for a title to the property. We have witnessed to them over the years, and the opportunity continues as I keep visiting their home. The Billy Graham film, “road to redemption” is a DVD that we were recently able to share with them. There are other properties that we are investigating due to the fact that Niko has not been able to procure a title to the lot on that main street in Sarabia. My heart is really drawn toward that one place, but our passion is for the souls that pass by there every school day, not the lot. Who wants to commit to be praying for the “metas’ of this ministry to develop? We are forming a prayer circle that can be interceding until we see some answers. metas = steps that are required of one. Responsibilities.

“Virgin” others wise named, “ The Guadalupe.” The belief that Mary was sinless and ascended into heaven, among many other unbiblical things, like Jesus brothers and sisters, listed in Matt 13 was referring to his cousins.

is message that has been on my heart for months.
